EARLY CHILDHOOD DEPARTMENT
At the JCC’s Early Childhood Center our programs are sensitive to each child’s special and unique talents and strengths. We pride ourselves in creating fun hands-on learning opportunities for all. We are dedicated to providing children with a strong educational foundation. Our thematic curriculum allows children to discover and grow in loving, nurturing and engaging environments.
Children’s activities are individualized and age appropriate. We encourage creative problem solving and decision making skills. All programs are staffed with caring and experienced professionals. Our teachers are certified by the State Education Department of New York and we are licensed by the Department of Health’s Bureau of Day Care. Parent involvement is key to your child’s success in school. We welcome a partnership with you and your family.
Just as each child is unique, so is each family. With this in mind, we offer a variety of flexible schedules and programs to best suit your family needs. We have an open door policy and you are welcome at any time.

ACTIVIT-E
The JCC Early Childhood Department is excited to introduce Activit-e. This quality website provides online activities, information and communication tool which will help connect families to their child’s classroom and to each other. Families must be registered through the Early Childhood Department in order to enter the site.

INFANT /TODDLER
- 12 month full day program
- 3, 4, or 5 days
- Ages 3 months - 2.8 years
- 7am - 6pm
We offer a variety of flexible schedules and programs that can best suit your family's needs. We are licensed by the Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care and our preschool teachers are New York State certified. Our staff includes a music and creative movement specialist. Our child care programs provide your child with a full day of activities, security and care in an environment that stimulates their growth in all areas of development.
PRE-SCHOOL
- 10 month full or half-day program
- 3, 4, or 5 days
- Ages 2.9 - 4.9 years
As your child grows we bring the world into the classroom by incorporating themes about themselves, their family, their community and their world. We utilize a wide variety of activities and materials to help your child learn in their unique way.
- Enrichment Activities
Enrichment activities can add to your child's day with a wide variety of programs that will capture your child's interest and curiosity. From cooking to music and rocket science, these enrichment activities extend your child's day and imagination. Class registration is available in the Preschool Office.
UNIVERSAL PRE-K
- 10 month
- 1/2 day program
- 5 days only
Funded through the Department of Education (for children turning 4 by December 31 of the current year) the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program at the JCC incorporates the goals of the New York City UPK program as developed by the NYC Dept. of Ed curriculum within our approach to a child centered educational experience.

FIRST FOOT FORWARD
Celebrating Our 21st Year of Serving Preschool Children with Special Needs Are you concerned about your child's speech development, play skills, attention span, sensory issues and/or general development? If yes, then call the professionals at First Foot Forward! First Foot Forward is a special education preschool dedicated to assisting children 2.6 to 5 years of age with developmental needs. Our individualized curriculum allows children to reach their full potential in a warm, nurturing environment.
- First Foot Forward specializes in helping children with:

• Sensory Needs
• Pervasive Developmental Disorder
To receive services, children need to be evaluated by an approved evaluation site. Our team of certified professionals can evaluate your child at no cost to you.
