Kabbalistic Secrets to a Successful Marriage: How to Add
Meaning to Your Love
Judaism is unique among other religions in that it views
marriage and loving intimacy as a spiritual as well as a
human ideal. According to Jewish tradition, marriage is more
than a symbiotic relationship; marriage is a union of two
hitherto incomplete souls, and the bond between spouses
transcends their individual needs. Jewish culture and
tradition idealizes a joyful and content marital
relationship and has a treasure trove of timeless advice on
how to jumpstart and maintain a happy marriage.
This six-week course that draws on millennia of Jewish
wisdom, from the spiritual to the practical, providing
concrete methods for improvement. It highlights many age-old
ideas which are finding widespread acceptance in the
scientific community today. The course will benefit
newlyweds, couples happily married for fifty years, as well
as those contemplating tying the knot. Married individuals
will learn how to enhance their relationship and heighten
their intimacy, and those looking to marry will discover the
building blocks of a healthy relationship.
Fee: $85 per person; $150 per couple, scholarships available

GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS
As
participants in UJA Federation’s Partnership 2000 Grant, our JCC has
developed a close and interactive relationship with our sister city in
Israel (Pisgat Ze’ev- a suburb of Jerusalem) over the past eight years. Last
year we welcomed Redbridge, England (a suburb of London) to this
relationship and we are certain this will enhance what is already an
incredible array of projects between the communities which have helped to
strengthen bonds between us and prove most conclusively that we are all part
of the Jewish Collective. Staff and Board members from each of the partner
communities communicate on a regular basis. Teen delegations from Pisgat
Ze’ev and Redbridge visited in August for a leadership retreat.
