All programs are at the Avis/South Shore JCC unless otherwise indicated. Provided are educational and acculturation activities for seniors from the former Soviet Union. Russian-speaking staff provide support and assistance to help seniors with limited or no English to participate in Senior Adult Department programs. In addition, a number of programs specially designed for this group are available:
English as a Second Language Citizenship Russian Club Movie Club Computer Class Literacy Club Theatre Museums Cultural Programs Discussion Groups Trips to cultural sites Chess Club - tied to a tournament connected with Senior Olympics. Exercise, art, dance, yoga, choral group, poetry classes and other recreational programs are held at the Avis/South Shore and St. Elizabeths Manor.
American born seniors are also invited to participate.
