The JCC Scouting program offers youth an opportunity to develop skills, leadership ability and confidence while building lifelong friendships. Through weekly meetings, trips, community service projects and workshops, the scouts learn, grow and have a great time. We also have scouting programs that serve children with special needs.

YOUTH BOARD

The Ultimate Teen Program for Future Leaders
The Bernikow JCC Youth Conference Room is host to the hub of the JCC Youth Department, the Executive Youth Board. The Youth Board brainstorms, proposes, discusses, plans, organizes and runs events, trips, activities and fundraisers for Staten Island's teen community. They also perform community service projects for the elderly, homeless future activists and leaders as they are empowered to creatively and positively influence their community, while actively helping those in need and at the same time are learning how to effectively work as part of a team. Members of the Youth Board are recognized by the JCC as representatives of the agency's youth population. Two serve as voting members on the JCC's Board of Directors. The Youth Board is committed to fundraising and Tzedakah. Throughout the year, the Youth Board sponsors highly popular Mother's Day and Purim gift packages as well as a major Rock concert (see above) that raise thousands of dollars for worthy causes.
