At our JCC locations and in schools and neighborhoods across Staten Island, our afterschool programs give children room to play, learn, and grow while families get the support they need.
Little Explorers After School Enrichment Academy
Little explorers don't just wait for pickup... they dance, create, move, and play at our After School Enrichment Academy, exclusively for JCC Early Childhood Education students.
Each afternoon features an enrichment activity, a snack break, and structured playtime, all designed to keep young learners engaged until families are ready to head home.
Enrichment activities include sports, dance, music, movement, and art. The program provides flexibility for families, with extended day programming available from dismissal until 6:00PM.

Explorers After School Program
Afterschool Explorers provides short-term, supervised afterschool care for children and teens with developmental disabilities — giving families time to rest and recharge.
Two divisions with age appropriate activities:
Explorers Juniors, ages 6-12
Explorers Teens, ages 13-21
For children with OPWDD respite hours. IEP and interview required.
Mondays-Fridays, 3:00PM-6:00PM
Program follows the NYC Board of Education schedule & JCC calendar
Located at Bernikow JCC (1466 Manor Road)

Community Afterschool Programs
Through our partnership with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Staten Island JCC brings enriching youth and teen programs directly into schools and neighborhoods across the borough.
These programs create safe, welcoming spaces where young people build confidence, discover new interests, strengthen leadership skills, and form meaningful connections with peers and mentors. Whether through academic enrichment, recreation, arts, leadership development, or community engagement, our goal is simple: help every young person reach their full potential while strengthening the communities they call home.
Cornerstone Community Centers
Our two Cornerstone Community Centers offer programming within 2 of Staten Island's New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments. The programs are located at the Richmond Terrace Center in New Brighton, and the Todt Hill Community Center. These centers provide year-round out of school time activities, evening and weekend programming for youth ages 5 to 21 and programs for adults 22+, including seniors.
We also offer 8-week summer camp programs, including weekends. Our innovative community model promotes a healthy lifestyle, positive youth development and academic support. recreation, social engagement and opportunities for both youth and adults. These programs are funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development.
