As always, there's something for everyone at the J! - U.S. Census 2020: DEADLINE EXTENDED The deadline to fill out the U.S. Census has been EXTENDED to Saturday, October 31! If you haven't already filled it out, please do so as soon as possible. It is vital that we are ALL counted to secure funding for housing, transportation, schools, and other services we rely on. It takes less than 10 minutes and is confidential. You can fill it out by mail, online here, or by calling 844.330.2020. If you need help completing the form, please call us at 718.517.7445 and we can assist you. - Register to Vote The deadline to register to vote in New York is Friday, October 9! In addition, students participate in master classes, and solo and group recitals. Students accepted to the program are required to fully participate in lessons and workshops and to represent the program through public performances. Check your answer in Thursday's J at Home! - Instrumental Lessons In addition to our ongoing virtual music lessons, we are also excited to begin offering outdoor in-person music lessons! All lessons will adhere to government guidelines and regulations. We will take all the necessary precautions to ensure our students' and faculty members' safety. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate wind instruments and voice studies outdoors. This study is opportunity to share your views and opinions on equity and belonging on Staten Island. The online survey will take about 20 minutes for you to complete. AHBJC-CAI Hebrew School The Arden Heights Boulevard Jewish Center, Congregation Ahavath Israel Hebrew School is currently accepting enrollments for hybrid learning. Classes will meet twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday late afternoons), alternating between in-person and virtual sessions. Students learn to read and write Hebrew, to participate in religious services, and to understand all aspects of Jewish life, history, and culture. American Politics, the Holocaust and Racial Justice Monday, November 9, 7pm The Wagner College Holocaust Center invites you to its 5th annual Egon J. Salmon and Family Commemoration of Kristallnacht and the St. Louis. This virtual commemoration will be led by guest speaker Julian E. Zelizer, Professor of History and Public Affairs at Princeton University and CNN Analyst. This talk will examine the ways in which fighting anti-Semitism and the quest for racial justice intersect, drawing inspiration from the life and theology of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel (1907-72).
