This year, that number has grown as Staten Islanders experience hardships related to COVID-19. Here’s the story of a family directly affected by the COVID-19 crisis that we were able to help: We were able to help a young woman who is pregnant and lost her job due to the pandemic. Because of her financial situation, she was forced to move in with her grandmother. We were able to provide her with food from our Kosher Food Pantry and also referred her for a SNAP assessment to see if she could access additional support. Our staff was pleased to be able to help this woman navigate this rocky time. Donate to our Families in Need campaign here to help families like this one.
