We are excited to announce that Driver’s Ed will be back this fall! The JCC contracts with a local vendor to provide a Driver Education program for new drivers 16 years and older. The class meets at the South Shore/Avis JCC for classroom work and in-car classes. The course is a comprehensive introduction to the driving experience. Students must successfully complete both the road and theory portions of the course in order to receive a MV 285, formerly known as the Blue Card. There Was No Silence: A Documentary by Joe Allen Monday, July 26, 9am In September 1972, 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team were murdered by Palestinian terrorists in Munich, Germany. Not only did the International Olympic Committee fail to properly recognize the horrific tragedy, but the games proceeded as normal, as if nothing unusual ever occurred - and they have refused to recognize the Munich Massacre for 23 Olympic Games and counting. Joe Allen, with the help of JCC Rockland, produced this spectacular documentary showing what is being done to bring light and recognition to those who perished. Watch the documentary here.
