It is vital that we are ALL counted to secure funding for housing, transportation, schools, and other services we rely on. It takes less than 10 minutes and is confidential. Every year, the JCC serves over 6,000 people in crisis. This year, that number will grow as Staten Islanders experience hardships related to COVID-19. Here is another story of a family in crisis we’ve been able to help: We were contacted by a single mother of twins who is also a domestic violence survivor. Since she currently has no income, she asked us for Kosher for Passover food earlier this month. After hearing her story, our staff began working to connect her to other services, including SNAP benefits, legal services, and domestic violence services. We also plan to provide her family additional food through our Kosher Food Pantry. You can join us in helping these families in crisis by donating to our Families in Need campaign.
