This year, that number has grown as Staten Islanders experience hardships related to COVID-19. Here’s the story of a family directly affected by the COVID-19 crisis that we were able to help: We were contacted by a senior couple who are raising their grandchildren after the children’s father died from COVID-19. They are on a very small fixed income and called the JCC to ask about getting food from our Kosher Food Pantry. In addition to supplying them with food, we were able to share other food resources with them. We were pleased to be able to provide them this support during this incredibly difficult time. Donate to our Families in Need campaign here to help families like this one.
