IN THE NEWS
Last week, our Kosher Food Pantry was able to feed more than 20 families from our soccer program! By now, you have likely heard that the COVID-19 PAUSE date has been extended to June 13 for NYC. Therefore, the Outdoor Pool & Swim Club will not be opening as it usually does on Memorial Day weekend. - As we await further details to establish an opening date for our Summer Swim Club and the rest of our facilities, know that your safety, health, and well-being are at the forefront of our decision-making. In the meantime, we are working diligently to make the required modifications to our policies and protocols, and following guidelines from health experts, the CDC, and local officials to ensure that our reopening is safe and successful. We appreciate your understanding as the situation continues to evolve. For the most up-to-date information, follow us on Facebook and continue to connect with us in our weekly e-mail blasts. Here’s the story of a family directly affected by the COVID-19 crisis that we were able to help: We were recently able to help an older adult who is legally blind and lives alone. She is on a fixed income, and recently her SNAP benefits (food stamps) were reduced dramatically. After she contacted the JCC, we were able to provide her with food from our Kosher Food Pantry as well as help finding additional benefits. Donate to our Families in Need campaign here to help families like this one.
