This year, that number has grown as Staten Islanders experience hardships related to COVID-19. Here’s the story of a family directly affected by the COVID-19 crisis that we were able to help: We were able to assist a couple whose young adult daughter lives with them. All three of them are unable to work during the crisis, which has put a financial strain on the family. We were able to provide them food from our Kosher Food Family, as well as referrals to legal and financial counseling and SNAP benefits for further food assistance. The family told us they were so grateful for all the information we provided, as they had no idea so many services were available to them. Donate to our Families in Need campaign here to help families like this one.
