We want to make sure all of our members and participants who are eligible are registered to vote. As always, there's something for everyone at the J! - U.S. Census 2020 Have you filled out the census yet? If not, now is the time to do it! The deadline is September 30th, and it is vital that we are ALL counted to secure funding for housing, transportation, schools, and other services we rely on. MUSIC Harmony Club The Dorothy Delson Kuhn Music Institute is accepting highly motivated music students in grades 9-12 to participate in a FREE comprehensive course of study. “Harmony Club” students receive private lessons and ensemble classes throughout the 2020-21 school year. In addition, students participate in master classes, and solo and group recitals. Students accepted to the program are required to fully participate in lessons and workshops and to represent the program through public performances. American Politics, the Holocaust and Racial Justice Monday, November 9, 7pm The Wagner College Holocaust Center invites you to its 5th annual Egon J. Salmon and Family Commemoration of Kristallnacht and the St. Louis. This virtual commemoration will be led by guest speaker Julian E. Zelizer, Professor of History and Public Affairs at Princeton University and CNN Analyst. This talk will examine the ways in which fighting anti-Semitism and the quest for racial justice intersect, drawing inspiration from the life and theology of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel (1907-72). Watch here. Every year, the JCC serves over 6,000 people in crisis. This year, that number will grow as Staten Islanders experience hardships related to COVID-19. Without the help of the JCC, many people would not have food, legal services, health insurance, mental health services, and other critical services.
