After School Programs

Community doesn't begin when someone walks through our doors — it begins wherever people come together.

Through our partnership with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Staten Island JCC brings enriching youth and teen programs directly into schools and neighborhoods across the borough.

These programs create safe, welcoming spaces where young people build confidence, discover new interests, strengthen leadership skills, and form meaningful connections with peers and mentors. Whether through academic enrichment, recreation, arts, leadership development, or community engagement, our goal is simple: help every young person reach their full potential while strengthening the communities they call home.

Explorers After School Program

Our Explorers after school program aims to educate the whole child through various kinds of activities that stimulate the mind, body, and spirit. 

Serving students entering grades K-8
Open until 7pm on school days
​Located at Bernikow JCC (1466 Manor Road)

Community Afterschool Programs

The JCC is committed to serving all Staten Islanders and the belief that every young person deserves opportunities to learn, connect, and thrive. Our after school programs are free and funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD).

Cornerstone Community Centers 

Our two Cornerstone Community Centers offer programming within 2 of Staten Island's New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments. The programs are located at the Richmond Terrace Center in New Brighton, and the Todt Hill Community Center. These centers provide year-round out of school time activities, evening and weekend programming for youth ages 5 to 21 and programs for adults 22+, including seniors.

We also offer 8-week summer camp programs, including weekends. Our innovative community model promotes a healthy lifestyle, positive youth development and academic support. recreation, social engagement and opportunities for both youth and adults. These programs are funded by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development.
