Funds & Campaigns

What are Funds and Why Does the JCC Need Them?

A Fund is created by an individual, family, or business to ensure that there is adequate funding to support a project that is important to them. The JCC, like all not-for-profit organizations, often has all of its income dedicated to providing its core programs, maintaining its facilities, and supporting its membership in diverse ways.

Building Funds for the Future

It is essential for the JCC to build its financial strength for existing and future programs and services, thereby enhancing our highly regarded position as the leading social service agency in Staten Island. The JCC is at the forefront of recognizing emerging needs that necessitate the creation of new Funds.

What Can You Do?

You are welcome to make a donation to any of our existing Funds below.
You can also create a new Fund.

Current JCC Funds

Provides scholarships to families in need to send children to JCC day camps.
Supports Sunrise Day Camp and Sunrise Year-Round Programs — a camp for children with cancer.
Supports the operations of Marvin’s Camp for children with disabilities.
Supports scholarships for families in need to send children to the Dorothy Delson Kuhn Music School; provides assistance to send the Music Institute faculty to trainings and conferences as well as repairs or purchase of instruments.
Supports programs at the JCC for the community in the area of informal Jewish Education; created in memory of Dr. Esther Grushkin.
Supports programs and other needs of our dementia-related programs.
Provides funds for Capital repair and replacements at JCC-owned facilities.
Supports the Olsen Family Wellness Center at Sunrise Day Camp.

Ways to Support Sunrise

The Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island heavily relies on the support of our local community. Thanks to your contributions and support, we have been able to give back summer to hundreds of children with cancer and their siblings.

In some way, your life is rooted in experiences connecting you to the JCC. To continue on your legacy, please consider including the JCC in your will or estate plan. By leaving a planned legacy gift, you can assure that the traditions and programs that mean so much to you today will exist for future generations. Anyone, regardless of age or wealth, has the ability to assure that the JCC of Staten Island continues providing essential programs by leaving a planned gift today.
