Programs

The JCC provides fun and enriching activities for teens! Our programs emphasize leadership while allowing teens to have fun throughout the year.

    Jewish Culture Clubs in Schools

    The JCC now runs Jewish Culture Clubs in several high schools throughout the borough. In-school programs have included holiday celebrations, challah baking demos, and a Krav Maga class. High schools in the program include CSI High School for International Studies, Gaynor McCown Expeditionary Learning School, Staten Island Academy, Susan Wagner High School, and Tottenville High School. We also have a partnership with the Jewish Foundation School to offer programs for their students.

    Teen Travel Camp

    Every day is a new adventure with Teen Travel! Designed specifically for teens entering grades 8 and 9, this program combines exciting trips to favorite summer spots like water parks, amusement parks, Broadway shows, and sporting events with opportunities for discovery and friendship. Past adventures have included museums, rock climbing, laser tag, and even overnight trips.

    Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Programs

    For teens entering grades 9 and 10, our full-day CIT programs offer the perfect blend of leadership training, hands-on experience, and fun. Teens can continue enjoying the magic of camp while helping to create amazing experiences for younger campers.

    In CIT I/Etgar, teens split their time between learning camp counseling skills, participating in community service projects, and enjoying exciting trips. Teens can move on to CIT II/Gesher, where they deepen their skills in youth leadership, child development, and activity planning, all while gaining on-the-job training and enjoying several fun trips.

    Teen Membership

    Teen membership is for teens ages 13-17 who are not part of a family membership. As members, teens have opportunities to stay active with their friends in a safe environment.

    Teen members must complete a Teen Tune Up Certification Course before using the Fitness Center. Teen Tune Ups help teens learn gym safety and etiquette so they can use the facility under the supervision of the fitness floor staff.

    Teen membership are not applicable for camp. Documentation showing grade is required.

    Sports Programs

    Whether you’re learning the fundamentals, developing your skills, or simply looking for a way to stay active, our programs create opportunities for teens to grow both on and off the field.

    Maccabi Games

    The Staten Island JCC is proud to participate in the Maccabi Games, the world’s largest Jewish teen sports competition. We look forward to sending another delegation of athletes to compete alongside 3,000 participants from across the globe in 2027!

    Teen Summit on Israel & Anti-Semitism

    This day-long summit, organized by and for teens with help from local JCCs and partners, unites Jewish high schoolers from across NYC, Westchester, and Long Island.

    Through powerful sessions and hands-on experiences, the summit fosters Jewish joy, community, and confidence while addressing rising antisemitism and growing bias around Israel.

    Pathways Programs

    Pathways: Careers, College, Community, offered by the JCC in partnership with 21st Century Learning Centers and Wagner Nigh School, features free career and college prep after school courses with a focus on STEM.

    Pathways to Care is a grant-funded program that educates teens in the science and history behind HIV/AIDS. The teens end the school year by presenting to their peers to raise awareness, combat misinformation, and stop the stigma.

Driver’s Education

The JCC contracts with a local vendor to provide a Driver Education program for new drivers 16 years and older. The course is a comprehensive introduction to the driving experience. Students must successfully complete both the road and theory portions of the course in order to receive a MV 285, formerly known as the Blue Card. For more information, call (732) 267-1348
