Frequently Asked Questions

Membership information:
When you enter our facilities, please swipe your key fob when you enter the building and at all Sports & Wellness areas.

  • What are the Hours of operation?
Click here for hours of operation and contact info.
  • Once I am a member, can I upgrade or downgrade my membership?
Upgrade your membership by adding on immediate family members. You would pay the difference of the initiation fee as well as the dues. Downgrade your membership by taking away members. There is a $25 administrative fee and your dues will be adjusted accordingly. Please note: You may not upgrade to a family membership for just the summer and downgrade in the fall.
  • Can I put my membership on hold?
You can place your membership on a freeze or inactive status for personal or medical reasons. Please call membership services directly to place your membership on hold.
  • What happens if I want to cancel my membership prior to the one year agreement?
There are three ways in which to cancel your membership prior to the one year agreement with proof, 30 days notice and a category based fee of $25-$45: 1) If you relocate geographically, 2) have a medical issue or 3) have a financial issue. Contact the Membership Services office for details or if you should have an extenuating circumstance.
  • What if I need to make basic changes to my membership like a credit card #, e-mail, address change, submit a payment, etc.?
You can make changes via phone at 718.475.5223 or by email at [email protected].
  • Can I bring a Guest(s)?
Guest passes will be available as of January 2023. Please see the membership office.
  • What should I do if I lose my ID/Access card?
Stop by the Front Desk.  They will first check to see if your card was turned in. If not, they will verify your membership and then re-issue a card for a replacement fee of $15.00.  You must carry and have your card with you at ALL times to allow you into membership spaces.
  • What can my children do/use?
Any member, any age, can use the pools and gymnasiums.  From ages 6-11, they will need to be supervised at all times.
Ages 12 and older can be in the Center unsupervised as long as they are well-behaved.
  • If my child(ren) are on the membership, can they go to the pool?
Absolutely, but if they are under the age of 12, they must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • What about the Fitness Center?
Children 12 & under are not permitted in the Fitness Center at all but may take Kids Fitness classes. See the Group Exercise Schedule. Youth 13 -15 years are able to use the Fitness Center only after undergoing a JCC Teen Tune-Up Certification Course for a $40 fee. 16 older can come and go as adults do.
  • Where can I get a pool and fitness schedule and does it change? Are there any gender specific times for any areas of the Center?
Click here for the Pool Schedule or here for the Group Ex Schedule.
  • Is there anyone to show me how to use the fitness equipment?
Yes, please feel free to ask any one of our fitness associates.
  • What should I wear to the fitness center?
Active wear – sneakers, sweatpants, shorts, t-shirts and sweatshirts. No jeans, slacks, khakis, jean shorts or skirts as well as articles with metal grommets. Sneakers also must be worn, no flip flops, water shoes or open toed shoes. Members must be dressed appropriately to be allowed in the fitness center with no exceptions.
  • What should I wear to the swimming pool?
Bathing suits and a swimming cap if your hair is shoulder length or longer.  You may also pull your hair up as well. We recommend that you wear flip flops or water shoes. No street shoes are allowed on the pool deck.
  • Is there anything I need to bring to the Fitness Center?
Yes – you must have your ID/Access Card with you at all times. Also, bring earphones if you would like to plug into our personal viewing TV screens. Please bring your own towel and lock.
