GYMNASIUM RULES AND POLICIES

Gymnasium Rules and Policies

1. Use of Gymnasium is at your own risk
2. Must be a valid JCC Member to access and use gym
3. Proper closed-toe athletic footwear and attire must be worn at all times (no “skins”)
4. No food, gum, glass bottles or alcohol is allowed
5. Non-service animals are not allowed in the JCC
6. Please refrain from:
   • Dunking, slamming or hanging on the rims or nets
   • Running or bouncing balls in the hallways anywhere in the JCC
   • Spitting, rough housing, wrestling or pushing
   • Swearing, abusive, inappropriate language or gestures
   • Using amplifiers or devices that produce loud noise (speakers with music)
   • Using small hoops and equipment for Sports and Rec programs
7. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult
8. The gym must be left in the same or better condition than before (clean up after yourself)
9. Do not leave the doors propped open or make any alterations to the gym
10. Limit play to 45 minutes if others are waiting
11. Gymnasium space is for sports use, not hanging out
12. The JCC is not responsible for lost or stolen items
13. Please report any unsafe conditions to JCC staff
14. Schedule for gym time is subject to change
15. Gym closings for maintenance, safety or other reasons deemed appropriate for the management and protection of property shall be at the discretion of the JCC

 
JCC staff reserves the right to determine all gym use and inappropriate behavior by users and to refuse entrance or eject from the premises any person whose conduct is objectionable, disorderly or disruptive to the JCC or is in violation of any law.

The JCC Sports and Recreation Department offers year-round programming for people of all ages and differences!

Soccer

• The JCC Soccer Strikers program teaches fundamental soccer training, shooting, passing, team play, game situations, and conditioning. 

Program goals:

• We strive for improvement in each child's ability, self-esteem, and understanding of team play!
• To retain and offer progressive opportunities and training

Soccer Strikers Winter Session

Basketball

Our Basketball program is for kids at all skill levels, from 6-14 years of age, our goal is to help our players build character, develop their skills, and have fun! 

Core 24 Winter Session 

Session runs December 17th - February 20th
Tuesdays &/or Thursdays
*No Class 12/24 & 12/31*

Tennis

Description of program content:

• Work on your tennis skills in a group setting with the JCC tennis instructor. Practice your forehand, backhand, volley, and serve, and game play!

Program goals, including what you hope the participant will get out of your program:

• Goals vary throughout each class to focus in on the group.

December 1st - February 2nd
10 Sundays
9:00am-3:00pm
Ages 6-14 coed mixed
Each individual will be put in 1 of 5 groups for an hour session between 9am-3pm based on age and skill level.
Per class: $30 members/$35 non-members

Volleyball

Serve it Up! Youth Volleyball Program

Our "Serve It Up" Youth Volleyball Program is for kids at all skill levels, from 10-14 years of age. Our goal is to teach the sport of volleyball to youth to help build character, develop their skills, and have fun!

Session runs December 9th - February 24th

All JCC Pickleball is played in the Bernikow Building’s 2nd floor Gym or in the Avis building Gym and you must bring your own paddle.

• Bernikow building: Tuesdays and Thursdays 7am-9am, 9am-11am, Wednesdays, 8am-10am, 4pm-6pm
• Avis building: Mondays 5pm-7pm, 7pm-9pm and Thursdays 5pm-7pm, 7pm-9pm
• All levels welcome unless otherwise noted

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 6pm - 9pm in the Bernikow Building’s Arts and Crafts Room
  • Fridays from 8am - 10:45am in the Bernikow Building’s 2nd Floor Gym A
  • Saturdays from 8am - 12pm in the Bernikow Building’s Arts and Crafts Room

Our indoor gymnasiums feature basketball courts, indoor soccer, pickleball courts, volleyball courts, etc.
We also have an outdoor sports field for rent.
