SunriseWALKS raises over $320,000 to send kids with cancer and their siblings to camp. On Sunday, June 2nd, the 4th Annual SunriseWALKS Staten Island was held at Mount Loretto to benefit Lucille & Jay Chazanoff Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island. Following the walk, children participated in a family carnival.
This year, SunriseWALKS exceeded its goal and raised over $320,000 for the camp. “We are incredibly grateful to all of our sponsors and individual donors, who make all this possible,” said JCC CEO David Sorkin. “Thanks to their generosity, these children will have a fabulous summer!”
Recognizing the extraordinary financial demands that a child’s chronic illness can have on a family, Sunrise Day Camps and its year-round and in-hospital programs are offered completely free of charge to all children being treated for cancer and their siblings, on a non-sectarian basis. Sunrise Day Camp-Staten Island is a proud member of the Sunrise Association. Comments are closed.
