Babies as young as 4 months old can be introduced to swimming. They learn a lot by mimicking, so when you have some down time, try blowing “raspberries” with your baby. Using your reaction to make it fun and exciting will motivate your infant to laugh and want to try it. Then, do the same gesture to your baby during bath time!
Our Sports and Recreation team has put together some drills you can practice at home to keep your skills strong before the season starts!
Practice the Lateral Hop using two basketballs to improve your ability to control the ball by feel, without having to think about it! Line up on one side of a sidewalk crack or a line taped on your basement floor. Start dribbling two basketballs simultaneously. Then start hopping back and forth over that line while maintaining your dribble.
