This year, for the first time in our organization’s history, we have both a female CEO, Orit Lender, and Board President, Sue Sappin. We are incredibly proud of the work our female leaders throughout the agency do every day! We will continue to highlight and honor our women leaders throughout Women’s History Month for their dedicated work and commitment to our community! Students in our Learning Bridges and Cornerstone programs celebrated International Women's Day by working on special projects like these flowers highlighting the qualities of the amazing women in their lives. Students also took home these special photos of themselves as superheroes so that they always have a reminder of how super they really are! - In Memoriam: Arnie Beiles Last month, we lost Arnold Beiles, who served as President of the JCC from 1998 to 2000. Arnie will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his loved ones during this time. We are grateful to the Borough President's Office and VitaCare Pharmacy for helping us keep seniors safe! - COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall Last week, we hosted a virtual town hall about the COVID-19 vaccines with Richmond University Medical Center and many of our community partners. Distribution will take place Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11am. Due to our limited funding, we can only provide 2 meals per person. Since we have fewer meals to give away, we ask that only those in need take part in this food distribution. Thank you for your cooperation. We have been getting hundreds of requests for help finding vaccine appointments. We will continue to work with our partners in government to help eligible people find appointments. The Stories We Carry featuring Josh Gad Monday, March 22, 6pm Josh Gad’s voice may sound familiar -- he’s best known for his role as Olaf from Frozen -- and now the actor is using his voice to share reflections as the grandson of two Holocaust survivors. Originally from Poland, Josh’s grandparents survived concentration camps and a death march and ultimately escaped to Germany -- where they met and where his mother was born.
