We'd like to tell you a little about some of our amazing Food Pantry volunteers. Meet Leslie Berg! Leslie is a retired math teacher who lives in Staten Island with her husband Jeffrey and her service dog Trenton. Leslie has a hearing disability and is deaf with cochlear implants. Her dog helps her recognize and locate sounds she needs to hear in her home as well as outside. When Leslie heard that the JCC Food Pantry needed more volunteers, she was eager to jump aboard! Her other volunteer activities include serving as the Treasurer and Chief Communications Officer of Rolling Thunder Chapter 1 New York. Leslie loves retired life, and enjoys playing canasta and mahjongg, cooking and baking, reading, going to movies, and keeping in touch with friends and family. She also keeps physically active at the JCC pool and gym and takes long walks with her dog daily. Thank you for your dedication and compassion, Leslie!
