TODAY: Beyond Exodus & Cheesecake with Adrienne Gold Davis, 11pm An often-overlooked holiday, Shavuot is about more than just cheesecake! It is the culmination of all we learned during the Exodus and provides us an answer to the question, "Is it freedom from or freedom to?" The giving of the Torah at Mt. Sinai changed the world, and we are its rightful heirs! Let's understand why we eat all those dairy products, while re-committing ourselves to being 'a light amongst nations' through Jewish values. Watch here. Vaccine Hesitation & Education with Dr. Daniel Kalla Thursday, May 13, 8pm Vaccines are a major tool to help us end the COVID pandemic, yet despite the scientific and medical communities consistently affirming their safety and effectiveness, many people are against them. At the heart of this problem is fear and misinformation, some of it spread maliciously and some of it spread in good faith with negative outcomes. As the head of ER at Vancouver’s St. Paul’s Hospital, Dr. Daniel Kalla has been fighting on the front lines and has become one of Canada’s go-to pandemic experts. He is also a vocal champion for the safety and importance of vaccination, both in the media and within his hospital. He will be in conversation with The Globe and Mail Western Arts Correspondent Marsha Lederman. Watch here.
