Abby Stein: Her Journey from Ultra-Orthodox Rabbi to Transgender Woman Tuesday, May 4, 8-9pm EST We are pleased to partner with Boulder JCC to present Abby Stein, author of Becoming Eve: My Journey from Ultra-Orthodox Rabbi to Transgender Woman, as she shares her powerful story. She will take us through her journey from being born and raised in a Hasidic family of rabbinic descent to completing a rabbinical degree to leaving the Hasidic world to explore a self-determined life. Abby came out as a woman of trans experience in 2015. Since coming out, she has been working to raise support and awareness for trans rights and those leaving Ultra-Orthodoxy. Jewish Composers: A Lecture Series by Deborah Rosengaus, Mezzo Soprano Wednesdays, through May 12, 7pm We are excited to present a new lecture series on Jewish Composers with Deborah Rosengaus, Mezzo Soprano. This series celebrates Jewish composers from around the world, including many whose works were suppressed by the Nazis. We will listen to works by Hahn, Mendelssohn, Mahler, Bernstein, Copland, Weill, and Meyerbeer—from household names to those only now starting to receive the recognition they deserve.
